FeedMe
hello everyone,
I meant to post this up before, but i never figured out how to convert things into mp3 style until now. anyways, i made this with reason over winter break. I used a fair amount of distortion and I messed around with automating an arpeggiator in order to get the sound. I want to start making more songs like this, but id appreciate some feedback.

thanks,

Almost there…

After taking advice from Dr. Naylor, right now, my songs melody is nearing its completion.  I still haven’t transferred the midi information into digital sound, but by the end of next week I plan on having the music of my piece completely finished.  From there, I’m going to write lyrics, record vocals (spit flames in the studio), and then spend the last week mixing down.  I’m looking forward to sharing my finished product with all of you.  More updates to come.

my song update

Hi Collective.

Sorry I missed you last week. I was caught up in important Psychology Dept. things and by the time they were over it was past 7…

I’ve made progress over the past few weeks, although I’ve been struggling with different ideas as well. What I’ve got so far (in the file I’m posting) is a pretty basic buildup to a (loud) point, after which everthing will suddenly get quiet and vocals will come in (what’s the fancy musical term for that?). It’s not much but it’s the best that I’ve come up with out of several different ideas.

This file still has some level/mixing issues, mainly because of a distortion effect, so watch the volume. I’m working on it.

My main concern right now is that I don’t want it to sound too much like a Trance/Techno track. I have no problem with it being fun or dancable, but I’m worried it’s going to be too formulaic. Hopefully the upcoming portions of the song will help offset that sort of thing…
